Some of the most meaningful moments in mentorship happen outside the classroom, away from everyday routines, and sometimes, right on a pickleball court.

On October 13, Bigs and Littles from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater New Orleans had the opportunity to spend an unforgettable afternoon with New Orleans Saints defensive end Cam Jordan for a special pickleball experience as part of his 16 for 16 initiative.

What started as an afternoon of friendly competition became something much bigger: an opportunity for young people to connect, try something new, and create lasting memories alongside their mentors and one of New Orleans' most recognizable community leaders.

16 for 16: A Commitment to New Orleans

For 16 seasons, Cam Jordan has been a familiar face both on the field and throughout the New Orleans community. His 16 for 16 initiative reflects that connection, celebrating his time with the Saints through experiences that give back to the city and the people who have supported him along the way.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater New Orleans was honored to be part of that celebration, giving participating Bigs and Littles a chance to step onto the court with Cam for an afternoon of pickleball, laughter, and friendly competition.

But the significance of the afternoon extended beyond the opportunity to meet a professional athlete.

It was a reminder of what can happen when community leaders use their platforms to create meaningful experiences for the next generation.
